Cheryl Dixon is a strategic communications and brand marketing professional with more than 25 years of experience across diverse business verticals.


She has held senior leadership roles at some of the world's most iconic brands, building brand awareness and loyalty for Coty, Grohe, CHANEL, Pepsi Cola North America, Ernst & Young LLP and Abbott Laboratories. 

In addition to her corporate experience, she has been a trusted thought leader and Adjunct Professor for more than 15 years, teaching graduate-level classes at Columbia University and New York University. She has also lectured at Parson's, Fashion Institute of Technology and Saint John's University.

Experience

Cheryl's experience spans a broad range of industries, including luxury, beauty, retail, consumer products (CPG), pharmaceutical, healthcare, finance, professional services, home and lifestyle industries as well as advising startups in the technology/wellness space.

As a consultant, Cheryl provides holistic communications, public relations and go-to-market strategy to established brands and emerging companies across varied industries. She advises companies that are building or restructuring their communications, public relations and corporate affairs functions and can serve as contract Chief Communication Officer. She is a trusted executive counsel and coaches leaders to communicate with more impact, authenticity and expanded perspective.

In addition to her corporate experience, Cheryl has been an Adjunct Professor for 15 years, teaching in the M.S. Strategic Communication program at Columbia University and in the M.S. Integrated Marketing, School of Professional Studies at New York University. 

Cheryl holds a Master’s Degree in Corporate and Public Communications from Seton Hall University, graduating with highest honors. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and Journalism from Montclair State University, and also holds a certificate in Digital Marketing from Columbia University.

 

She lives with her husband and three rescued Siberian Huskies in Westchester, NY.

TEAM BUILDING

 

Built and led a new North American communications and public relations team at Coty and established global processes and frameworks supporting four categories of Consumer Beauty business after the acquisition of key brands from Procter & Gamble.

Created the first internal and organizational communications, consumer relations and issues management function at CHANEL.

BRAND BUILDING

Developed a North American brand platform and positioning for GROHE, a rapidly expanding European luxury kitchen and bath heritage brand.

  • Winner, Amazon 2016 “Most Improved Vendor” award.

  • Established a media relations strategy and increased SOV by 292% in six months.

  • Built loyalty programs for interior designers, sales leaders and independent contractors

Led partnerships with key media outlets for co-branded event Led brand repositioning message campaigns for Coty Consumer Beauty multi-brand restage.

  • Drove media impressions across all brands by more than 73% y/y.

  • Oversaw award-winning experiential portfolio retail concept, Beauty Story. 

Designed and launched Inside CHANEL, a global intranet site that increased key stakeholder engagement by 92% and evolved into a consumer-facing platform. 

Created programs and partnerships supporting Diversity Strategy and Development and Minority Recruiting and Retention at Ernst & Young.
